Golden Age Ministry -- Verdelle Sands

What Is The Ministry Doing?

On June 21st the Golden Agers went on a day trip to the Eastern Shore of Maryland.  Everyone had a good time enjoying the country air, green fields and delicious food with Verdelle's family.  This is truly God's country.
The ministry's ongoing project is the TCRC Emergency Food Pantry.  The rewards for this service are great.  Since May, the Pantry has been working with the PG County Health Department's Children and Parents (CAP) program.  This program helps women transition from treatment for drug addiction, mental abuse, and other problems to become responsible homemakers for their families.  The Pantry provides food for them in their new found residences.
The ministry will start its Fall bi-weekly schedule Thursday, September 13th, 10:30-1:30 p.m.  Plans are being made for the Fall program to include having a representative from the Prince George's Department of Aging to talk about estate and long term  care planning.  The group is also planning a trip to the White House.
