The Music Ministry is comprised of six choirs. The Chancel Choir which is the official choir of the church directed by Mrs. Andrea Robinson, the Gospel and Men's Choir directed by Mrs. Rothel Carter, the Children/Youth Choirs directed by Mrs. Ruth Derr and Jackie Hayes, the Voices of Praise directed by Mrs. Frances Suggs, and the Young Adult Choir directed by Mr. Sam Kendrick. Each choir invites you to join them and to be a part of the worship experience from the choir loft.
The Music Department held a special activity on July 11, "A Service of Tribute." This activity was to recognize members for their faithful service. These individuals were Lenora Butler (Ms. Kitty), Marian Conaway, Delphus Dorsey, Effie Harris, Charles Hunt, Lavette Johnson, Landonia Tanner, and Jessie White.
The highlight of the evening was the "Roast" of the honorees which was a skit put on by Jackie Hayes and Ruth Derr. It was all done in fun and fun was had by all. It was truly a night to remember by all who attended. The beautiful printed program said: "give me my flowers while I can see them, so that I can see the beauty they bring." Each honoree received a bouquet of flowers.
