When Bishop Felton Edwin May came to speak at St. Paul's service celebrating the church's 210th  Anniversary/Homecoming Service, Mr. Kevin West having done an excellent job in presenting the Children's Moment, was asked by the Bishop to attend  a special retreat that was held October 19-21. This program "A Time to Heal Retreat"   was sponsored by the Baltimore-Washington Conference to help bring about healing and understanding concerning the  September 11  incident.
  Kevin  West is not only a member of St. Paul, but is also a civilian employee at the Pentagon. In his article in the UMConnection, Mr. West spoke of  his experience and of God's presence at the Pentagon on that memorable day.
"I saw three asthma victims sharing one inhaler. People shared cell phones and transportation, and one woman walked two miles back to the Pentagon after escaping the scene, to help others…. I believe more strongly than ever that  God will do what He said He would do. Psalm 46:1 reaffirms this. 'God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.'
