On Friday, August 24, 2001, Family Ministry sponsored a Family Fun Night.  Family Ministry provided the fresh fried fish, that was contributed by Bob and Carol Gaines. Church members in attendance provided the special trimmings.  The ladies of Family Ministry cleaned, seasoned and prepared forty pounds of fish.  As soon as Percy Byrd, Ernest Adams and their helpers could get the hot fried fish inside, there were St. Paul members awaiting its arrival.  There was a children's corner with games.  A men's area was set aside for the watching of the Redskins game (unfortunately we had technical difficulties).  The youth enjoyed fellowship watching the fish being fried outdoors and eating outside. Rev. Oliver blessed the food and provided words of the importance of having a church fellowship to the capacity-filled Fellowship Hall.

The food did not stop there!  Special dishes were provided and enjoyed until they were completely gone.  Marcia Black prepared her special sweet potato dish.  Sheniqua Harris provided her delicious macaroni and cheese.  Tina Cornish-Laury brought wonderful cheese rice.  This is just to mention a few of the many dishes that were available.

This was a fellowship time for new and old members.  People discussed everything from church council, bible study classes, and the Washington football team. Shirley Harris conducted a scramble game that stumped many. Everyone enjoyed themselves so much that the primary comment was,
"we need to do this once a month!"
