Mrs. Thelma Tanner, "Mother of Our Church," was a dedicated member of St. Paul and worked in many capacities. Dear to her heart was the "Annual Homecoming Celebration" of which she served as chairperson for approximately 40 years. Before her death, she was named "Honorary Chairperson" and still was very much involved until her death. While  her pace had slowed, her dedication and assistance never wavered.
Though she and her husband are deceased, they continue to bless St. Paul. The Tanner Community Resource Center, established in March 2000, was  their home and now  serves as a distribution center for food and clothing; computer training classes are held. This summer two camps were held there.
