At the well-attended  May 24th meeting, reports from the Nuture, Outreach, and Witness ministries were presented.

The Nurture Report announced that St. Paul currently has three
Acolytes who have completed their training--Aaron Blyther, Antoine Taylor and Tameka Taylor (St. Paul welcomes all of you.) The Usher Board continues to grow with a membership of 54; the Liturgical Dancers outreach activities included dancing at the St. Ann's Infant and Maternity Home, Oxon Hill UMC, and participated in the 85th birthday celebration of Pat Berry's mother.

Family Ministries programs included such as the trip to Kings Dominion, Children's Church, and the National Race for the Cure were very successful. The Birthday Committee's revitalized birthday celebration was a huge success. The Education Department which includes the Church School continues to plan and hold activities involving the whole church.

The Outreach Ministry's biggest project to date has been Warm Nights. A story on this appears on page 5 of this issue.

The Witness Ministry stated  goals are:  giving attention to evangelistic outreach, membership care, spiritual formation, communications, lay speaking ministries, and witnessing through the sharing of personal and congregational stories of Christian experience, faith and service. Help is needed to contact missing members and suggestions on how to improve our ability to quickly notify our membership about church concerns.

The Council was happy to see Reverend Oliver in attendance. She read a very touching  poem on God's Love which explained love and ended with "You have to believe that God is Love."
