Kings Dominion
A great time was had by all at the Baltimore Washington Conference annually sponsored Day at Kings Dominion. Family Ministry secured two buses with the assistance of Shirley Harris, which carried more than 54 participants to the park. Ernest Adams said that it would be wonderful to fill four buses next year. Our families need to fellowship more and this annual trip to the amusement park is a joy-filled day for all who participate.
A special thanks goes to all who went on the trip and to those individuals who assisted in making the day a success.
Next year, we are looking to fill those four buses with St. Paul members and riding the roller coasters together!
Race for the Cure
Family Ministry and the Health & Welfare Ministry came together to form a St. Paul United Methodist Church Team to walk in the Susan B. Komen National Race for the Cure held June 2 at the monument grounds. Thirty walkers from St. Paul and five volunteers signed up to participate and assist with the race organizers. All walkers wore Race for the Cure t-shirts and carried a St. Paul sign to show support for finding a cure for breast cancer.
It has been very emotional knowing the number of people within St. Paul that have been affected by this disease, either personally or through a family member or friend. We need a cure and because of these reasons, we were happy to participate in this worthwhile cause.
We appreciate all who took part in this activity. In the future, we will become participants in other walks for important causes. Anyone wishing to organize our participation or make suggestions for other important causes is asked to contact Family Ministry or Health & Welfare members with their input.
